Hello!
We approach this letter with humbled hearts. There are so many questions we keep asking ourselves:
How do we acknowledge the un-imaginable emotions and decisions that you are facing?
How do we express the deepest desires of our hearts to be parents?
How do we convey that we would strive to be amazing parents?
Hopefully you will feel our love and sincerity as we try to answer some of these questions.
First of all, we admire you for having the strength and courage to explore all of the options for your baby. We can't begin to imagine what you are going through, but we pray that the Lord will help guide you in this crucial decision.
A little bit about us. Mike and I(Mindy) met while both working at our local WalMart (romantic I know). We have been married for 15 years and have 1 biological son, Kenneth, who is 14. After years of failed fertility treatments, we both feel that adoption is the right path for us. We both would love to have more children and we have plenty of love to share.
About Mike (from Mindy)
Mike is my best friend and the love of my life! He has always been an extremely hard worker. Mike works as a detective and is a K9 handler. His dog, Jenny, lives with us and is like part of the family. At work he is known for his computer skills and his compassion when working with small kids. Mike has a great sense of humor. At first he seems pretty quiet, but once you get to know him he will keep you laughing. Mike is the best dad around. He spends lots of time with Kenneth riding ATVs, hunting, camping and often they are found just hanging out together in the basement.
About Mindy (from Mike)
A little bit about Mindy. She is a wonderful woman. She has a heart the size of a mountain and always seems to find time to help others. I don't think I can remember a time when she wasn't working on a fund raiser or other project to help another person. She is also a very detailed person. She loves numbers and things that are logical. Academics are important to her. She has continued in school and now has her master's degree. Mindy has been a young women's leader now for a while and loves spending time with the young women - doing whatever it is young women do. Her personality is one of her strong suits and she is always cheering others up. She also has a way of influencing others to do good. I would be lost without her and I honestly can't imagine anyone being as good of a mother as she is.
About Kenneth
Kenneth is amazing! We feel so incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to be his parents. Kenneth is a kind, fun, and energetic teenager. He loves to hang out with his friends and play a variety of sports. His main interests are football, soccer, and snowboarding. He plays percussion in the school band and also plays the piano. He is nervous and excited to become a big brother - he has waited a long time. He is really good with younger kids and will entertain his little cousins for hours.
